Harrisburg Visits Fayette in Key Lewis & Clark Conference Clash
Harrisburg will visit Fayette in a key Lewis & Clark Conference clash tonight. The Bulldogs come in with an overall record of 5-2 and are a perfect 4-0 in conference play. They’re coming off a 28-18 win on senior night against Westran. Coach Steve Hopkins says his seniors have come a long way from their freshman year.
A win against Fayette would go a long way to solidifying Harrisburg’s first-ever conference title in football. In order to do it the Bulldogs will need to slow down the quarterback-receiver tandem of Ben Wells and Chase Allen-Jackman. Hopkins says the message to his defense is pretty simple.
Currently 5-2 this season, Fayette continues to build off of their deep post season run last season, which included a district semifinal victory over Harrisburg. Coach Mike Thompson says his seniors have carried that momentum along with some mental toughness this year.
Fayette has scored 88 points over their last two contests, a higher total than their other five games combined. Thompson believes his team has found their confidence on the offensive side of the field.
