Hard Work Ahead for Interstate 70 Expansion Project

Last week, the Missouri Department of Transportation announced the first contractor for the Interstate 70 project. Millstone Weber of St. Charles was chosen to work a 20 mile stretch of I-70 from Highway 63 in Columbia to Highway 54 in Kingdom City. Representative Tim Taylor of Bunceton says the timeline for other portions of I-70 is being established.

Contractors will focus on alleviating traffic issues during the project. Taylor says there are some interesting financial numbers related to the project.

The project will add a third lane to Interstate 70 in each direction from Blue Springs to Wentzville. Work is expected to last seven years.
