Hall Of Fame Hallsville Coach Koeneke Announces His Retirement

Hall of Fame Hallsville baseball coach Barry Koeneke announced he will be retiring from coaching at the end of his 46th season. In a release from the Hallsville School District on Friday, Koeneke said “I have loved being part of this program for the past 46 years. I have three big loves. Time spent coaching. Helping young men grow. And the Hallsville community. These loves won’t go away when I retire.”

To date, Koeneke’s career record is 687-474. He has led Hallsville baseball to 16 district championships, eight trips to the Final Four, and has won three state titles in 1987 and back-to-back in 2004 and 2005. In 1993, Koeneke was inducted into the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Koeneke and the Hallsville Indians Baseball program were inducted in the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, Class of 2019.
