Fordyce Remains Optimistic New Farm Bill Will Arrive In Early 2024

Former Farm Service Agency Administrator Richard Fordyce says he’s still optimistic that Congress will come together to pass a new Farm Bill early next year.  Fordyce, who farms in Northern Missouri’s Harrison County, says he believes leadership is in agreement on a majority of what the bill will address.

Fordyce adds that leadership of both ag committees are taking into consideration testimony raised at listening sessions around the country, including one hosted at the Missouri State Fair in August.

Richard Fordyce served as director of Missouri’s Department of Agriculture from 2014 to 2017.  The most recent Farm Bill, which had expired in September, was extended until Sept. 30, 2024.
