EPA Advances Year-Round E-15 Rule

The Environmental Protection Agency has sent the White House its final approval to a rule allowing year-round E-15 sales.  The move was requested nearly a year and a half ago by eight Midwest governors in their states, including Missouri.  While the Renewable Fuels Association is pleased by EPA’s action, president and CEO Geoff Cooper says Congress also needs to act nationally…

Commodity groups also commended EPA’s action.  National Corn Growers Association president Harold Wolle said, “Allowing consumers to access higher blends of ethanol year-round will play a critical role in helping the country meet its ambitious climate goals.” Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor urged the White House Office of Management and Budget to quickly finalize EPA’s rule so the marketplace has enough lead time to prepare for E-15 sales next summer.
