Environmental Benefits From Precision Ag Technologies

Ag equipment manufacturers are hoping that the green they see from increased new tractor and combine sales won’t just be in their pocketbooks. Curt Blades, senior vice president for agricultural services with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, says newer equipment in the fields means the increased use of technologies that reduce inputs and emissions, meaning that farmers leave a smaller environmental footprint.

Blades adds that they’ve already measured a significant impact from the adoption of precision ag technologies.

AEM Senior Vice President for Ag Services Curt Blades says that has resulted in the elimination of 10 million metric tons of carbon emissions, or the equivalent of 2.2 million passenger cars.
