Columbia Driver Seriously Injured in Boone County Accident

A Columbia man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on route B in Boone County Saturday morning. A car driven by 36-year old Thomas Tydings abruptly made a U-turn in front of a pickup driven by 35-year old Tyler Vanriessen of Kirksville. The truck collided with the car and Tyding’s vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and came to rest in a ditch. Tydings was transported by ambulance to a Columbia hospital. Vanriessen was not hurt. The accident occurred at the junction of Mount Zion Church Road at 8:40am.
