The Chairman and CEO of Orscheln Farm and Home has commented on the merger of the Moberly-based business. On Tuesday, Tractor Supply Company announced it had received clearance from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to close on the previously announced merger with Orscheln Farm and Home LLC. On Wednesday, Tractor Supply and Orscheln Farm and Home completed that merger and acquired a net 81 stores and divested the remaining 85 stores to two buyers approved by the FTC. Bomgaars, a farm and ranch retailer based in Sioux City, Iowa, acquired 73 stores, with the remaining 12 stores acquired by Buchheit, a home-improvement and farm
and ranch retailer based in Perryville, Missouri. Additionally, Bomgaars has entered into an agreement to purchase Orscheln’s distribution center and corporate office by the end of next year. The 330,000-square-foot distribution center will serve Bomgaars and its approximately 200 store locations.
