Centralia wrestling returns to action Thursday with a CCC quad with Brookfield, Macon, and Palmyra at Palmyra. Centralia head coach Luke Gramke says the Panthers are off to a strong start.

Centralia also won the Battle at Katy Trail Tournament in Sedalia before the holiday break. Gramke guides two 2019 state medalists in seniors Trevor Bodine and Grafton Littrell.

Bodine seeks consecutive state championships at 195 lbs, and Littrell jumped to 182 lbs after last year’s sixth place finish at 160. Gramke says the Panthers possess a loaded freshmen group.

Brayden Shelton received most outstanding honors at the Battle at Katy Trail Tournament. The freshman Shelton defeated Brookfield’s returning undefeated state champion Donavan Parn en route to the tournament title in Sedalia. Gramke highlights the rest of Centralia’s depth as the Panthers roster six 2019 state qualifiers.

Gramke indicates the Panthers are determined after Bodine and Littrell were the lone Centralia wrestlers to place at state last season.

Bodine notched a 44-4 record last year. Littrell ended 38-11. Hear Centralia head coach Luke Gramke’s full interview below.
