Centralia’s basketball teams swept Bowling Green in the final two games Friday at MACC. The Panthers beat the Bobcats 70-47, and the Lady Panthers won 39-36. Guy Moran got hot in the fourth quarter to score a game-high 18 for the Panthers.

Gavin Deters led the Bobcats with 13. Centralia is now 6-1. Bowling Green falls to 6-3.

In the late game, the Lady Panthers led by as many as nine in the final two minutes, before Bowling Green gave themselves a chance to send the game to overtime.

Kinley Charlton had 13 and Grave Deters had 12 for Bowling Green, now 3-5. Coach Craig Smith had confidence in his girls at the end of the game after they refused to quit.

Both schools play Palmyra next: Centralia on Monday and Bowling Green next Saturday.
