Centralia Girls Lift Championship Trophy at Host Tournament

The Centralia Lady Panthers secured the 67th Centralia Invitational title with a 59-28 win over the Hallsville Lady Indians tonight. Centralia outscored Hallsville 24-6 in the second quarter after trailing 9-8 after one. The Lady Panthers got it going offensively via the 3-pointer.

Brandon Monty with the calls on KRES and centralmoinfo.com. Centralia converted eight 3-pointers and had five different players with at least six points. Morgan Ross, Braylin Brunkhorst and Raegan Anderson all scored in double figures. Coach Megan Brinkmann said it was an outstanding effort.

Centralia wins its host tournament for the first time since 1991. Brinkmann said it was great to defend the home floor.

Hallsville coach Matt Heet said a defensive switch in the second quarter changed the momentum of the game.

The Salisbury Lady Panthers captured the third place trophy with a 45-36 win over the Harrisburg Lady Bulldogs. Tori Ricketts led Salisbury with 16 points. Coach Barry Graskewicz said for his team it all starts with practice.

Harrisburg was outscored 17-9 in the fourth quarter. Coach Ryan Richardson gives his overall impressions from the Centralia Invitational.
