Busick Voted Against Open Enrollment Bill

State Representative Danny Busick voted against the open enrollment bill that passed the Missouri House Wednesday. The bill would allow districts to opt out of taking new students, or limit the number who transfer in.

He says his biggest concern is the potential recruiting of athletes.

He says this bill could force some small districts to close and consolidate, but he thinks a proposal to increase teacher salaries would have a bigger impact. The bill passed the House on an 86-73 vote and now heads to the Senate.
