Busick Concerned About Absentee Owners

State Representative Danny Busick says absentee ownership of farmland is becoming a problem. He estimates up to two-thirds of the farmland in his district may be owned by people who don’t live there, because it’s been a good investment.

He says he doesn’t necessarily want to stop the practice.

He also doesn’t want to reduce the number of potential owners of land, because that could drive land values down.
