Basye Believes PDMP Will Be a Tough Sell For House This Time

Last week, the Missouri Senate passed a Prescription Drug Monitoring Program. The bill has been heavily pushed by Senator Holly Rehder of Sikeston for many years. Rehder previously got similar legislation passed in the House last year when she was still a state representative. The PDMP bill now awaits a hearing in the House. State Representative Chuck Basye thinks a House debate on the bill will be interesting.
While Basye acknowledged there are many businesses and medical professionals who support the bill, he thinks it will be a tough sell.
The Senate voted for the bill 20-12 last week and has sent the legislation to the House for consideration.
