Area Representative Votes Against PDMP Legislation
Once again, legislation to establish a Prescription Drug Monitoring Program in Missouri has made its way through the House. The Missouri House of Representatives approved legislation yesterday (Mon.), 98-56. The measure now moves to the Senate. One of the representatives who voted against the bill was Cheri Toalson Reisch of Hallsville.
St. Louis has a Prescription Drug Monitoring Program, however Missouri is the only state to not have such a program statewide. Toalson Reisch says this contributes to further problems with the program.
Toalson Reisch feels further resources need to be given to rehab and treatment programs. The legislation, House Bill 1963, is being championed by Representative Holly Rehder of Scott City. Rehder filed a similar bill last year, which passed in the House, but died in the Senate.
