The Tigers enter 10-1 with eight straight victories after Marceline defeated Carrollton 49-12 in the district semifinals. Ross scouts third-seeded Sweet Springs, who sits 8-3 after it topped Slater.

Sweet Springs quarterback Hunter Sims and running back Cole Lovercamp both boast 15 rushing touchdowns. Greyhounds head coach Kris Conley says the Tigers defense presents challenges.

Conley also referenced Marceline running back Cullen Bruner, who received Lewis and Clark Offensive Player of the Year honors and rushed for 309 yards with five touchdowns last week. Sweet Springs lost to another Lewis and Clark school Fayette 44-6 in last year’s district championship. The Greyhounds fell to Westran 53-7 in the 2016 district semifinals. Conley details the differences in the 2019 matchup with a Lewis and Clark school.
