Yinka Faleti, Democratic Candidate for Missouri Secretary of State, called on the State of Missouri to offer an option for voters to mail in or drop off a hand-marked paper ballot for all elections if the governor declares a state of emergency due to COVID-19 or any other outbreak of infectious disease or natural disaster.

“As anxiety over COVID-19 mounts across the country, I’m concerned that participation in our state’s municipal, primary, and general election may suffer as some Missourians could opt to stay home for concern of infection” said Faleti. 34 states currently allow voting by mail. Currently, Missouri voters do not currently have the choice of voting by mail.
