Last week the Missouri House Special Committee on Disease Control and Prevention was formed and met for the first time to discuss ways to combat the coronavirus in the Show-Me State. Ranking Minority Member of the committee, Kip Kendrick says the first meeting involved gathering information on the new infectious disease.

The goal of the meeting was to organize preventative measures against the Coronavirus. With the virus now found in Missouri, Kendrick says it is crucial for the committee to provide the proper oversight of this virus.

Legislators throughout Jefferson City are also being asked to take the necessary steps to prevent contracting or spreading the virus.

The Missouri House Special Committee on Disease Control and Prevention is expected to meet again this week to discuss further ways to monitor the Coronavirus situation in Missouri.
