Traditions have grown on the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia the past 123 years, with 14 of them under the guidance of director Mark Wolfe. When the gates close on this year’s fair August 20th, it’ll mark the conclusion of the last fair under Wolfe’s direction. Wolfe reflects on the chance to grow into the role, having started on the fairgrounds two decades ago as part of the facilities team.
Wolfe says he looks forward to attending future fairs.
The 121st Missouri State Fair officially begins Thursday, with contests underway Tuesday morning.
