Winter weather begins to affect the area Thursday night as colder temperatures have entered the listening area. Jimmy Barham is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill.

Friday morning sees the precipitation change.

Conditions may be different in the northern portion of the area.

The weather system finishes up with rain Friday afternoon into Saturday.

Barham says snow accumulation could be one to three inches, with higher totals to the north, and that we may see just a light glaze of ice all the way up to potentially two-tenths of an inch, with higher totals south of Highway 36. Barham also advises those needing to travel this weekend to keep an eye on road conditions, and we have a link to the MoDOT Traveler Map on our website, centralmoinfo.com.
