Wheat Quality Tour To Traverse Kansas Fields Next Week

We’ll have a better idea next week of how persistent drought conditions are impacting the nation’s wheat crop, when the Wheat Quality Council’s annual tour of fields around Kansas takes place.  Executive vice president Dave Green says exceptional drought conditions across Southern Kansas have resulted in more people wanting to take part in the tour.

Green explains how the tour will determine a projected overall yield.

The annual wheat quality tour will leave Manhattan on Tuesday morning and regroup in Colby that evening, before venturing south and east toward Wichita on Wednesday.  The tour will conclude when all six routes return to Manhattan on Thursday.
