Westran Graduate Andrew Baxley Named New Hornet Football Coach

Andrew Baxley is the new head football coach at Westran. Baxley is a 2012 graduate of Westran and has spent the past four years as an assistant coach for the Hornets. He says he’s looking forward to giving back to his alma mater.

Baxley played his college football at William Jewell. He’s coached the Hornets’ running backs and defensive backs for the past four seasons. Baxley says his playing and coaching careers have made him well-rounded.

Baxley adds his familiarity with the kids in the Westran program is beneficial.

Baxley takes over a Westran squad that has gone 5-6 in each of the last two seasons. He explains the plan for getting prepped for the 2023 season.

Baxley takes over for Aaron O’Laughlin who stepped down as Westran head coach last month to focus on his family. O’Laughlin compiled a 32-25 record in five seasons with the Hornets.
