Welte Found Guilty

A jury only took two hours  Wednesday to find Danny Welte Senior guilty of second degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting death of his wife outside a motel in November 2016. According to Kirksville Police, the body of 41-year-old Echo Welte was found with a gunshot wound at the Days Inn on South Baltimore. The hotel’s security cameras captured the shooting. Echo Welte had filed for divorce that September, and earlier in the day, the family had attended the funeral of their 19-year-old son. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Sentencing is set for May 4th.
