Volunteers Help Lay Wreaths at Annual Event in Jacksonville

The annual Wreaths Across America event takes place this Saturday morning at 11 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. The event involves volunteers laying live wreaths over graves across the cemetery. Cemetery Director Alison Evans says there is one change to this year’s event.

Approximately two-thousand wreaths will be placed on the cemetery’s graves. Evans says anyone wishing to help can just show up to the ceremony.

The Missouri State Veterans Cemetery is also looking for volunteers to help remove the wreaths in mid-January.
