A victim has been identified in Monday’s homicide in Fayette. At 1:30 pm Monday, Fayette police officers found 29-year old John Turner of Poplar Bluff dead inside a vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound. The vehicle was found parked in the 200 block of South Linn Street. Upon arrival officers received reports of a possible suspect running from the area. The suspect is identified as a black male standing approximately five feet, six inches tall and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.  He is believed to be armed and dangerous.  An autopsy of Turner’s body is scheduled for January 2nd at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. The investigation is being led by the Fayette Police Department, and is being assisted by the Howard County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad.
