Vestal Hired As Moberly Baseball Coach

The Moberly Board of Education approved the hiring of Tony Vestal as the district’s new high school baseball coach, at last night’s (Tues) meeting. Vestal is the current Lady Spartans basketball coach, has been head coach of the softball program, and was a former assistant coach for Spartan baseball for seven years.

The Spartans went 5-18 last season. Vestal discusses keys to the program getting some traction…..

The position has been vacant since Dale Heimann resigned after last season.

The Board also approved the hiring of a pair of assistants for Vestal. Jeff Engel is a Moberly educator and assistant football coach, and Brandon Boyer is a Moberly graduate and currently teaches in the Northeast R-4 district.
