After two years spent as the head coach of the Fayette girls basketball team, Valerie Foland will be stepping down from her position. Foland is expecting the birth of her first child at the end of August. Foland explains her decision between focusing on coaching and a growing family.

Foland’s husband, Novy, is the head coach of the Keytesville girls basketball team. She says the announcement of their first child brought the girls of both teams together.

Foland enjoyed every bit of her experience as Fayette’s head coach.

The Lady Falcons compiled a 21-28 record during Foland’s two year tenure. The Fayette School District is in the midst of searching for Foland’s replacement.
