USDA Rural Development Touts Connections Through Broadband Programs

Remote work, precision agriculture, and this weekend’s playoff football game will make its way to thousands more households across Rural America because of investments in broadband access by USDA.  The department’s Rural Development office received $2 billion in funds through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.  Deputy undersecretary Farah Ahmad says all the funding has been allocated, and residents should see more service options in the coming years.

The funds were distributed through Rural Development’s ReConnect Loan and Grant program.

USDA’s Rural Development office also has grant and loan programs available for energy efficiency, business development, and water infrastructure projects.
