A pair of RVs are parked along the fence at the edge of the West Campground on Aug. 9th, 2021, prior to the start of the 119th Missouri State Fair.

Unreserved campsites on the Missouri State Fairgrounds will be claimed Friday morning on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Director Mark Wolfe explains the lineup process.

About 170 sites with full hookups will be available at $35 per night.  Once claimed, campers without a reserved spot are limited to dry campsites.

Wolfe says campsites are usually in high demand, and the fairgrounds will soon have a final opportunity to add more campsites with the recent purchase of 200 acres along the Katy Trail.

Lineups for unreserved campsites begin Friday morning at 7, with the gates to the campgrounds opening at 9 a.m.  Additional details are available on the Missouri State Fair website.
