Undefeated Monroe City Welcomes One-Loss Lincoln in Quarterfinals
The undefeated Monroe City Panthers welcome the one-loss Lincoln Cardinals in a Class 1 quarterfinal Saturday. The Panthers racked up 450 rushing yards in a 52-18 win over South Shelby last week. Waylon DeGrave was responsible for 222 of them. Coach David Kirby was proud to see his team win their second straight district championship.
Kirby provides his scout on Lincoln.
Lincoln holds an 11-1 record and 10-game winning streak after capturing a district championship against rival Cole Camp, 38-20. The Cardinals are led by running back Ross Johnson, who has amassed 1,664 yards this year and is the all-time leading rusher in Lincoln program history. Coach Brad Drehle explains how Johnson has had so much success.
Drehle says the matchup on the offensive and defensive line will play a significant role in the game.
You can hear Lincoln at Monroe City Saturday on KTCM with pregame starting at 12:40. Brandon Monty and Austin Ward will have the call.
