Unbeatens To Battle For Share of Clarence Cannon Crown

Centralia and South Shelby are both 7-0, and 5-0 in the Clarence Cannon Conference heading into Friday’s battle at Charles Rash Field. South Shelby hasn’t beaten Centralia since 2014. The Panthers enter the encounter averaging 38 points per game. They’re led by quarterback Cullen Bennett, who has thrown for eleven touchdowns and rushed for eleven more. Coach Tyler Forsee says its important for his offense to get off to a strong start against the Cardinals.
Meanwhile, the Panther defense will try to contain a South Shelby offense that has scored 42 or more points in every game this season. Forsee says the defense needs to find a way to contain their playmakers.
The Cardinals this season have already knocked off four other teams that were also previously unbeaten. Coach Adam Gunterman says Centralia doesn’t make many mistakes.
He says his team cannot turn the football over.
Colin Schowe and J.B. Connoley will have the game on Glory 97.3 and centralmoinfo.com. Kickoff is at 7.
