Unbeaten Macon Meets Brookfield in CCC Matchup

The Macon Tigers look to improve to 6-0 when they host the Brookfield Bulldogs in a Clarence Cannon Conference matchup tonight. Brookfield won last year’s contest 32-28, but Macon has won five of the last six meetings between the teams.

Macon is currently ranked seventh in Class 2 following a 45-6 victory over Highland last week. Coach Van Vanatta says a couple of running backs have stepped up in the absence of injured starter Maurice Magruder.

Vanatta says the Bulldogs have improved throughout the season and that the last four weeks of the season will be challenging for his squad.

Brookfield won its second game of the season last week, defeating Palmyra 48-20. The Bulldogs are 2-3 on the season. Coach Cory Luke says the offensive line and wide receivers have improved throughout the year.

Luke adds limiting Macon’s athletes will be a key to a win.

Pregame coverage from Macon begins at 6:25 on KTCM and centralmoinfo.com. Brandon Monty has the call.
