The University of Missouri System has announced a pilot program that will make standardized testing optional for incoming undergraduate students. This is a temporary policy that will apply for first-time undergraduate applicants applying for admission for the 2021-2022 academic year. Students may still choose to submit ACT or SAT scores, and the admission requirements and review process for those applicants will remain unchanged. Applicants who choose not to submit a standardized test score will have their applications reviewed based on GPA, class rank, extracurricular and leadership activities, and letters of recommendation. Each UM institution will set its own standards for minimum GPA.
