UIndy Picked To Win GLVC Football

Indianapolis has claimed seven of the nine Great Lakes Valley Conference football titles, including a 46-29 victory over Truman State to win the first-ever GLVC championship game in April. The Greyhounds edged Lindenwood for first place in the conference coaches’ preseason poll. UIndy coach Chris Keevers said it will be a challenge to claim another title this season….

UIndy won’t have two-time All-American running back Al McKeller, who announced recently he is transferring to Northwest Missouri State. Truman fans won’t feel too sorry for a Greyhounds’ offense that returns Toriano Clinton. He burned the Bulldogs for 235 yards and three touchdowns in the championship game….

In three spring games, quarterback Bryce Stancombe tossed ten TD passes and no interceptions. His top target is two-time All-GLVC receiver Daveon Bell.

On the defensive side of the football, the Greyhounds gave up 316 passing yards and four touchdowns to Nolan Hair and Truman. Coach Keevers said they will be better….

Chris Keevers and UIndy will open the season at Saint Xavier on September 4th. The Greyhounds and Truman State will wrap up the regular season November 13th at Stokes Stadium.
