17th ranked Indianapolis went on a 24-point run in the second half to beat 23rd ranked Truman 44-28 tonight (Sat.) at Key Stadium. The Greyhounds played keep-away with 39 minutes of total possession time against a Bulldog team that ranked 8th in the country in that category.

UIndy scored on the third play of the game, but the Bulldogs answered with a 16 yard touchdown pass from Jaden Barr to Cody Schrader. After a Greyhound field goal, Truman took its first lead in the second quarter…..

Brad Boyer with the call on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com. The Greyhounds got a second field goal and second touchdown pass from T.J. Edwards to Ryan Topper to take a 20-14 lead at halftime. Truman’s Josh Scheiderer missed a 33-yard field goal as time expired to end the Bulldogs’ streak of 32 straight red zone scores.

UIndy answered with a touchdown on its next drive. The Greyhounds turned a muffed punt into a field goal and went on to score 24 straight points to go up 44-20. Truman coach Gregg Nesbitt tipped his cap to the Greyhounds….

Barr capped the scoring with a 10-yard touchdown run and set the Truman career record with 79 touchdowns responsible for. Reed McBroom of Brookfield had a career-high 15 tackles. The Bulldogs drop to 8-2 and finish GLVC play at 5-2. Indianapolis improves to 8-1 and 6-1 to keep its playoff hopes alive.
