Last week, the House launched a new investigation into the U.S. Capitol insurrection January 6th. The move comes weeks after Senate Republicans blocked the creation of an independent commission which would have been evenly split between the two political parties. Missouri senior U.S. Senator Roy Blunt, who did not to vote on the initial matter, does not see the need for any type of commission right now.

The special commission has eight Democrats and five Republicans. The GOP senator does not like the way this is set up.

The vote to form the committee was 222-190, with all but two Republicans voting against Democrats to lead the investigation.
