Two-Percent Increase For U.S. Feedlot Populations

Feeder cattle populations in the nation’s largest feedlots increased by two percent year-over-year at the start of November, according to USDA’s monthly Cattle on Feed report.  The 11,931,000 total is a net gain of 351,000 head during October, as placements increased four percent from a year ago to 2,164,000.  Marketings were down three percent at 1,758,000.
