Two People Died On Missouri Roads Over Christmas Holiday Weekend

Two people died in Missouri traffic crashes during the 78-hour counting period, which began at 6 Friday night and ended at 11:59 Monday night. Troopers investigated 124 traffic crashes, with 71 injuries, and also made 81 DWI arrests. A West Plains man died Saturday eight miles east of there, and an Illinois woman died Sunday in southwest Missouri. During the same period last year, there were 1,017 traffic crashes statewide. with four dead and 318 injured. Troopers investigated 306 of those crashes, including three deaths and 84 injuries, while arresting 52 for DWI.
