Two Kirksville Residents Hurt When Catamaran Capsized

Two Kirksville residents suffered moderate injuries when their catamaran partially sunk at the three mile marker of the Grand Glaize Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks around 3 Saturday afternoon. The State Highway Patrol says 60-year-old James Darr was steering and 30-year-old Anthony Smith of Osage Beach was operating the throttle, when the engine lost power and the boat began to rotate counterclockwise and take on water. Darr and 54-year-old Cheree Ball of Kirksville were taken to Osage Beach. Smith was not hurt.
