Two people were hurt, one seriously, in an accident in Callaway County early Saturday morning. The State Highway Patrol says around 1:25, 55-year-old William Cockrell of Hallsville was driving a pickup westbound on County Road 292 northwest of Hatton, when it struck a deer, went off the left side of the road, and overturned. Cockrell had serious injuries, and was flown to Columbia. A passenger, 58-year-old Jeanette Perkins-Martin of Columbia had moderate injuries, and was taken to Columbia.
