Two Hurt in Accident East of Macon

Two people were hurt, one seriously, in an accident on Highway 36, about two-and-a-half miles east of Macon around 11 Monday night. The State Highway Patrol says an SUV driven by 50-year-old Michelle Schwanke of New London went off the left side of the road, struck a guardrail, and overturned. She was not hurt, but two passengers were. 45-year-old Charles Evans of Quincy was flown to Columbia with serious injuries. A 13-year-old New London girl was taken to Macon with minor injuries.
