Two Fires Damage the Callao School Building
A pair of fires broke out at the Callao C-8 School building on Wednesday. According to Callao Fire Chief Tyler Hall the first fire began shortly before 9:30 am while the second started just before 3:30. The first fire was extinguished within 30 minutes and the second blaze required firefighters to be on the scene for approximately three hours. Both fires were contained to electrical areas of the school. They resulted in significant smoke damage to the building. The Bevier Fire Protection District provided aid for both fires. Both the Missouri Fire Marshal and the Callao Fire Protection District are investigating the cause of the fires. Callao students were scheduled to return to school Thursday. Due to the fires classes aren’t expected to resume until Monday at the earliest.
