Two Dead in Columbia

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department says two people, including a Moberly resident, have died as a result of what may be a murder suicide. Deputies, Columbia Police, and State Highway Patrol troopers were called to a home in the 5100 block of North Creasy Springs Road after getting reports of shots being fired around 11:30 Monday night. Deputies entered through an unlocked door to determine if anyone inside needed help. Someone fired multiple shots at them forcing them to retreat. No deputies were injured. Shortly after midnight, flames were observed inside the residence from the area where deputies believed the gunshots were fired. Attempts to communicate with the people inside were unsuccessful. Around 2:20, a SWAT team got inside and found the bodies of 39-year-old Bobbie Jo Robinson of Columbia, and 41-year-old Stefan L. Dailing of Moberly. The Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct autopsies to determine the cause of death.
