Two-Day Feedlot School Begins Wednesday in Kirksville

University of Missouri Extension will host a two-day feedlot school beginning Wednesday at the Adair County Extension Office in Kirksville.  Livestock specialist Zac Erwin says the industry is beginning to trend toward more cattle finishing taking place closer to home, after decades of Missouri cattle going west.

Erwin also credits construction of a new beef processor in Warren County for increased interest among Missouri producers.  The two-day course will include tours of three different types of feeder facilities.

This is the fourth iteration of MU Extension’s two-day feedlot school in North Missouri.  The course begins Wednesday in Kirksville and is $400 .  For additional details or to register, call Extension livestock specialist Zac Erwin at 660-665-9866 or visit the Feedlot School website.
