Two Arrested in Palmyra for Burglaries and Identity Thefts

Two people were arrested in Palmyra Tuesday following an investigation by Palmyra Police and the East Central Narcotics Task Force. Following a search warrant executed around 6:20 that morning in the 600 block of West Cross Main, 33-year-old Nikolas Bennett and 33-year-old Tanya Bueno were taken to the Marion County Jail. Investigators had determined they had items stemming from burglaries and identity thefts in Palmyra and Quincy. They also found methamphetamine and a handgun at the home. Bueno was released Wednesday pending charges being filed by the Marion County Prosecutor. Bennett was released to the Clark County Sheriffs Department on an outstanding warrant, and he also has several warrants in Adams County, Illinois.
