Two 7-1 Teams Meet When Centralia Visits Macon

Macon hosts Centralia in a battle of two 7-1 Clarence Cannon Conference teams tomorrow night. The lone loss for both teams is to top-ranked Monroe City, Macon’s coming last week. Coach Van Vanatta previews the matchup.

Centralia is ranked eighth in Class 2 while Macon is one spot behind. The Tigers are without two key offensive starters in running back Maurice Magruder and wide receiver Landan Cole. Vanatta says other players have stepped up.

Centralia has beat Clark County, Highland and South Shelby since its Week 5 loss to Monroe. Coach Tyler Forsee says the passing game has improved.

Forsee would like to see better play in the early stages of the game.

The winner would clinch a share of the conference title with Monroe City if the Panthers fall to Clark County. Monroe takes it outright with a win. You can hear Centralia at Macon on Superstation KRES with studio pregame starting around 6:20. Brandon Monty and Austin Ward will have the call.
