Augustana outscored Truman 20-9 in the third quarter. The Vikings committed just five turnovers and forced 13. Dean’s Bulldogs shot 39 percent from the field and 17 percent from three.
Dean said the nonconference loss to Augustana offers a chance to improve after 2-1 Truman played its toughest opponent to date.
Dean’s senior guard Totta scored 13 of her team-high 14 points in the first half. Truman hosts Avila Friday. The Truman Tipoff starts at 5:15pm on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com. Hear Theo Dean’s full reaction to the home opener below.
