Truman Women Beat McKendree-Bulldog Men Lost In Overtime

The Truman State women won at McKendree and the Bulldog men wrapped up a frustrating road trip with an overtime loss.

Caleb Zurliene hit a jumper from inside the lane with less than a second left in the extra session to deliver a 90-88 victory to McKendree. It capped a 33-point, 12-rebound, five-blocked shots day for the transfer from Purdue-Northwest.The Bearcats scored nine of the last ten points. Brad Boyer with the call on Superstation KRES and Xavier Hall finished with a season-high 19 points. Dylan Peeters led Truman with 24-points and 12-rebounds, and Elijah Hazekamp had 20-points and 13-rebounds. Bulldog coach Jeff Horner credited McKendree’s hero for making a play….

The Bearcats improve to 11-10 overall and 7-7 in the GLVC. The Bulldogs drop to 10-13 and 5-10 in the conference.

The Truman women bounced back with an 82-54 victory snapping McKendree’s three-game winning streak. The Bulldogs led 32-22 at halftime and scored the first seven points of the third quarter….

Hannah Belanger led all scorers with 18 points. Hannah Pinkston had 12 and coach Theo Dean saluted his senior…

Maddie Neimeier added 11. The Bulldogs improve to 12-3 in the GLVC and 16-7 overall. The Bearcats drop to 7-7 in the league and 10-11.
