Truman Upsets Top Ranked Drury In Eagan’s Return To Pershing Arena

Brad Boyer with the final call of Truman’s upset of top ranked Drury 67-66 on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com last night (Mon.). Ellie Weltha hit two free throws with 1.4 seconds on the clock to give the Bulldogs their only lead of the game…

Weltha finished with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Allison Thomas also had a double-double with a career-high 19 points and 10 rebounds. The Bulldogs trailed by 10 points late in the third quarter, but scored the next nine points….

Dean’s Bulldogs fell behind by 16 points in the second quarter….

The Bulldogs out-rebounded Drury 37-18.

The loss spoiled Drury coach Amy Eagan’s return to Pershing Arena since leaving as the program’s winningest coach. The loss also snapped Drury’s 41-game road winning streak. The Panthers’ 14-game winning streak ends. Drury drops to 18-2 and 8-1 in the conference. It was the 8th straight win for Truman to match the program’s longest winning streak and to move the Bulldogs to 7-1 in the GLVC and 11-5 overall.

The men’s game was canceled due to COVID protocols within the Drury program. Both Truman teams will next play at Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday night. We will have the games on KRES starting at 5:15.
