Truman Teams Continue Their Mastery of the Miners

The Truman State teams continued their mastery of long-time rival Missouri S&T in a doubleheader Thursday night at Pershing Arena.

The Bulldog women used a monster third quarter to blow past S&T for an 83-71 victory. Trailing 33-30 at halftime, Truman exploded for 32 points in the third….

Brad Boyer with the call on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com. Tiffany Davenport scored a career-high 15 points. The Bulldogs struggled getting the ball inside in the first half turning the ball over 12 times. The post combo of Katie Jaseckas and Ellie Weltha combined for 22 of the 32 pointsin the third. Truman coach Theo Dean explained the turnaround….

Both starting post players ended the night with double-doubles. Jaseckas had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Weltha had 13 points and 11 boards. Hannah Belanger paced the Bulldog scoring with 18 points. Truman improves to 6-2. Kristen Keys led all scorers with 27. The Miners drop to 2-8 and fall to the Bulldogs for the tenth straight time.

Six players scored in double figures to lead the 12th ranked Truman men to 93-56 victory over S&T. The Bulldogs came out of the gates quickly….

Coach Jeff Horner was glad to see his team take control and not let up…..

Masen Miller led a balanced attack with 14 points. The Bulldogs’ 4th straight win pushes their record to 9-1. The Miners fall to 2-9. It was the ‘Dogs 7th straight win over S&T.
